Darla & The Acts of Grace Staff

2011

Wow, where do we start?!! Well, in February, Darla and Kim went to El Salvador to work with Moody Missions. Darla had the opportunity to speak at numerous venues in El Salvador. She and Kim spoke at the National AG Women’s Leaders meeting to a group of single moms, and a support group for abused women. They also were blessed to host a mini-training at a church in San Salvador which had about 50 leaders as well as professional psychologists and government officials in attendance. They were also able to visit a Santa Ana prison where they witnessed to the inmates there.

In March, we attended the South Texas AG Women’s convention in Houston. We had a time of fellowship with the area AOG ministry leaders and promoted our fall training at the Kerrville women’s retreat.

In April, we traveled to Bulgaria where Darla spoke at a National Womens Conference at Life in Glory church in Stara Zagora. Caught in the Act of Grace (now translated into Bulgarian!!) is the first sexual abuse recovery study in Bulgaria. While in Stara Zagora, we visited two of the Roma (gypsy) villages. Pastor Ivo of Life in Glory church is working to break the cycle of poverty and end the stigma associated with the Roma people. Then it was on to Bucharest, Romania where we conducted a training for the staff of Hagar House ministry. Caught in the Act of Grace (also now translated into Romanian!!) will be a part of their ministry with young mothers.

As a side note, we would also like to let you know that we spent many months processing, and now finalizing, the translation of the Women's Sexual Abuse Bible Study and the Post Abortion Bible Study into Spanish!! The Men's Sexual Abuse Bible Study is also in the pipeline! Best of all, Pastor Darla is now a published author with books available on Amazon.com!!!! Check it out later at:

April found us at the South Texas AG District Council promoting awareness of our ministry to area pastors. This event culminated with the ordination of new pastors, including our very own, Darla Weaver! Yahoo!!!

In May, we had our Memorial Wall service at Lone Star Cowboy Church. It was a special time for these PA graduates memorializing their babies.

In June, as she does every year, Darla gave the “sex talk” to the campers at Rodeo Bible Camp. The campers were also blessed to hear a powerful testimony from one of our Men’s Caught in the Act of Grace bible study graduates. We try and remind them that no matter what they’re going through that God loves them and we can leave it all at the cross.

In October, Darla travelled to Belize to work with missionary Karen West. She spoke at a National Women’s Conference and was able to see what Karen’s ministry is doing in Belize. In late October we hosted a Leadership Training in Kerrville, Texas at the South Texas District Ladies Retreat. Julie Barnard and Melissa Wright were trained as Leaders as they taught their first live Bible Study.

In November, a Mission Team of about twenty people from Lone Star Cowboy Church went to Dangriga, Belize to build the very first Assemblies of God church for the Garifuna people. Pastors Darla and Randy were a part of the group, as well as our Ministry Coordinator Julie Barnard, her husband, our Media Man, Bill. It was a huge blessing to be a part of something so wonderful. To see Pastor Felix's tears as he led the very first service in his new church was quite moving, and a memory that will be cherished.

Stay tuned - I have it on good authority that 2012 is gonna be incredible!!!
